چکیده
Introduction: Chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) and severe eosinophilic asthma (SEA) are common comorbidities characterised by type 2 inflammation associated increased expression of interleukin 5. Methods: Eight patients SEA CRSwNP attended the Scottish Centre for Respiratory Research as part a clinical trial (EudraCT number 2019-003763-22). Following an initial 4-week run-in period (baseline) when took their usual inhaled intranasal corticosteroid treatment CRSwNP, they all received subcutaneous benralizumab 30 mg q4w 12 weeks. Results: weeks benralizumab, no significant differences were detected in global symptom visual analogue score (VAS), hyposmia VAS, total score, or peak inspiratory flow. In contrast, Asthma Control Questionnaire significantly improved along near-complete depletion peripheral blood eosinophils 99%, while eosinophil-derived neurotoxin fell 72%. Conclusions: Greater improvements patient-reported outcomes related to observed than response benralizumab.

Hyperuricemia and Perinatal Outcomes in Patients with Severe Preeclampsia
Maternal, fetal and neonatal complications are correlated with hypertensive disorders during pregnancy. In this context, the maternal blood uric acid level is reported to be one of the prognostic factors in determining the prenatal outcome. Based on the existing data, the present descriptive study was performed on two groups of women with severe preeclampsia; the first group (n=53) with a uri...
متن کاملCutaneous reactivity pattern and nasal smear cytology in patients with chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps; is it associated with the course of the disease?
Background and Objectives: To determine the association of hyper-reactivity to environmental allergens and mucosal secretion cytology with the course of disease in patients with chronic rhinosinusitis and nasal polyps (CRSwNP). Methods: A cross sectional study was conducted at Tehran Clinic of Asthma and Allergy in 2016. Adult patients who earned the definite diagnosis of CRSwNP and were free o...
متن کاملComparison of Sinonasal Symptoms in Patients with Nasal Septal Deviation and Patients with Chronic Rhinosinusitis
Introduction: Disorders of the nose and paranasal sinuses are among the most common chronic illnesses. Although considerable progress has been made in the medical and surgical control of these diseases, a large number of questions relating to the diagnosis, evaluation, and treatment of these conditions remain unanswered. The aim of the present study was to evaluate differences in the frequency ...
متن کاملExpression of cysteinyl leukotriene receptor GPR17 in eosinophilic and non-eosinophilic chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps.
BACKGROUND The cysteinyl leukotrienes (cysLTs) are proinflammatory lipid mediators that act on the type 1 cysLT receptor (CysLT1R) in the pathogenesis of chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP). GPR17, a G protein-coupled orphan receptor with homology to the cysLT receptors, has been proposed as a damage sensor during inflammation. However, the expression and correlation of GPR17 and ...
